# How to verify a WhatsApp Business account

#### **Prerequisites for Business Verification**

* Registered legal business name
* Valid business documents (GST, registration certificate, license, or utility bill)
* Active website or online business presence
* Business-owned email address and phone number
* Access to Meta Business Manager with admin permissions

#### Steps 

1. Visit [https://business.facebook.com](https://business.facebook.com/)
2. Log in using the same Facebook account that owns the WhatsApp Business account.
3. From the left-hand menu, go to  **Business Settings > Security Center**.
4. From the **Business Verification** section, click **Start Verification**.

5. **Enter Business Details:** 

In this step, Meta collects official information to confirm your business identity. All details must exactly match your legal documents.

* **Legal Business Name**\
  Enter the *registered name* of the business as mentioned on official documents (Certificate of Incorporation, GST certificate, license, etc.).
* **Business Address**\
  Provide the complete registered address, including street, city, state, and PIN code.\
  \&#xNAN;*This address should match the one shown on your uploaded documents or utility bills.*
* **Website URL**\
  Add an active website that clearly represents your business.
* **Business Phone Number**\
  Enter a valid phone number owned by the business.\
  Meta may use this number for OTP or verification calls, so ensure it is reachable and active.

6. **Verify Contact Details :** 

* In this step, Meta **confirms that the contact details** you provided actually belong to your business. 
* Select a verification method to confirm your identity. You can receive a code via **email, phone call, SMS, or complete verification through domain ownership**.

7. **Upload Verification Documents:** 

Upload official documents that clearly show your **legal business name** and **registered business address**. These documents help Meta confirm that your business is legitimate.

* Accepted documents include business registration certificates, GST certificates, licenses, or utility bills.
* Ensure the document is clear, valid, and matches the details entered earlier.
* **Accepted formats:** PDF, JPG, PNG

8. Next, confirm the email address or phone number you submitted to verify your business. 
9. Enter the verification code received via email, SMS, or phone call, then click **Next**.
10. After submission, Meta will review the provided details. Verification status will be updated in the **Security Center** once the review is complete.
