# Assigning an SMS Phone Number to Your Store

### Why Assign a Phone Number?

If your organization manages multiple stores or integrations, such as Wix, Shopify, WooCommerce, or other connected businesses, each store can be assigned its own phone number.

This helps Mercuri:

* Route customer messages to the correct store
* Keep conversations organized across multiple businesses
* Ensure automations and AI assistants use the correct phone number
* Separate customer communications for each store
* Provide a better customer experience with dedicated business numbers
