Configuring WhatsApp
1. Access the Integration Settings
Navigate to Mercuri in Pipedrive:
After logging into Pipedrive and installing the Mercuri app, go to the Mercuri dashboard within your Pipedrive account.
Go to Integration Settings:
Within the Mercuri interface, look for the Settings or Integration Settings option, usually found in the menu or settings area. Click on it to access the integration options.
2. Connect Your WhatsApp Business Account
Select Connect WhatsApp:
In the Integration Settings, you’ll see various channels available for connection. Click on the Connect WhatsApp option to start the setup process.
Link a Verified WhatsApp Business Account:
Verification Requirement:
To use WhatsApp with Mercuri, your business must have a verified WhatsApp Business account. Verification with Meta (formerly Facebook) ensures that your business is legitimate and eligible to use WhatsApp Business API for messaging.
If your account is not yet verified, you’ll need to go through Meta’s business verification process. This typically involves providing official business documents and other verification information.
Why Verification is Important:
Verification not only builds trust with your customers but also unlocks features such as the ability to use WhatsApp Business API, which is essential for automated messaging, customer support, and other business-related communications.
New Number Requirement:
When setting up WhatsApp Business with Mercuri, you'll need to use a dedicated phone number that is not currently associated with any other WhatsApp account. This number will be used exclusively for your business communications.
If you don’t have a new number, you’ll need to acquire one specifically for your WhatsApp Business account. This ensures that your communication is streamlined and not interrupted by personal messages.
Once you have a new number, you can proceed to register it with WhatsApp Business API during the setup process.
3. Complete the Connection Process
Follow the Setup Prompts:
Once you have a verified WhatsApp Business account and a new number ready, follow the prompts in Mercuri to connect your WhatsApp account.
You’ll be asked to provide the phone number you’re using for WhatsApp Business and authenticate it. This usually involves receiving a code via SMS or phone call, which you’ll need to enter to verify the number.
Configuration and Permissions:
After verification, you may need to configure additional settings such as message templates, notification settings, and permissions within Mercuri. These settings allow you to customize how WhatsApp messages are sent and received through the platform.
Test the Connection:
Once everything is set up, it’s a good idea to send a test message to ensure that the integration is working correctly. You can do this by starting a conversation from the Mercuri dashboard in Pipedrive.
