# Contact Sync from CTWA to Wix/Shopify Store

Click-to-WhatsApp Ads (CTWA) allow businesses to drive customer interactions directly from Facebook or Instagram ads into WhatsApp.

With Mercuri, customer details from CTWA ads are automatically synced to your Wix or Shopify store, existing contacts are updated with a CTWA label, and new ones are created, making it easy to run follow-ups and campaigns.

***

### How It Works

1. **Ad Click → WhatsApp Chat**
   * When a customer clicks on a CTWA ad, they are redirected to the business’s WhatsApp chat.
   * The conversation window remains active for **3 days**, during which the business can engage with the customer.
2. **Contact Matching in Wix/Shopify**
   * As soon as the conversation starts, the Mercuri checks whether the customer’s details (phone number, name, email if available) already exist in the connected **Wix** or **Shopify** store.
   * **Case 1: Existing Contact**
     * The customer record in the store is updated.
     * A **label/tag “CTWA”** is assigned to the contact, making it easy to identify and segment them later.
   * **Case 2: New Contact**
     * If no record exists, a **new contact profile** is automatically created in the store.
     * The new profile is tagged with **“CTWA”** for tracking and campaign purposes.
3. **Post-Sync Benefits**
   * Once the contact is synced, businesses can:
     * Re-engage the customer through **drip campaigns** (WhatsApp, SMS, depending on integrations).
     * Segment audiences based on the **CTWA label** for targeted outreach.
     * Track customer journeys from **ad click → chat → store record → purchase**.

### Key Advantages

* **Seamless syncing** between WhatsApp conversations and your e-commerce store.
* **No duplicate contacts**—existing records are updated, not recreated.
* **Improved marketing automation** with CTWA-tagged segments.
