# Configure Mercuri for Microsoft Teams

### A. Onboarding a Phone Number

To start using Mercuri for messaging in Microsoft Teams, you must onboard a phone number for either **SMS or WhatsApp**.

**For SMS Onboarding:**

1. Navigate to [Mercuri SMS Onboarding](https://docs.mercuri.cx/sms-integration).
2. Follow the steps to verify and activate your number.
3. Once activated, your number will be ready for SMS messaging in Microsoft Teams.

**For WhatsApp Onboarding:**

1. Navigate to [Mercuri WhatsApp Onboarding.](/integrations-guide/microsoft-teams/whatsapp-onboarding.md)
2. Complete the **WhatsApp Business API** setup.
3. Ensure you **use Microsoft Teams in a browser** for proper onboarding.

### B. Inviting Users To Mercuri in Microsoft Teams

After setting up Mercuri, invite your team members to collaborate using **SMS and WhatsApp messaging within Teams**.

* **Install Mercuri CX App** – Each team member must first install the **Mercuri CX app** on their Microsoft Teams account.
* **Login** – Once installed, they need to log in with their credentials to activate their access.
* **Role Assignment and  Access** – You can then assign roles and grant access to specific sections of the dashboard based on their responsibilities.

**Managing Users in Mercuri**

1. Go to **Settings > Teams** in Mercuri.
2. You will see a list of all your team members.
3. Click on a user to assign permissions.

**Assigning Permissions**

* **Inbox Access** – Allow users to send and receive messages.
* **Marketing Access** – Grant permissions to create and manage SMS and WhatsApp campaigns.
* **Billing Access** – Provide access to view and manage billing details.
* **Reporting & Analytics** – Allow users to view engagement reports.
* **Integrations** – Manage third-party tool connections.
